The Slip Goes to the Thermal, the Bill Goes to the Laser, and Nobody Picks a Printer
A counter with two printers usually means a print dialog on every bill and a 3 inch invoice coming out of the A4 printer by mistake. E-Khata sends each paper size to the printer you chose for it, prints without the dialog, and can print the customer's slip and the office copy from a single click.
E-Khata Cloud prints every document straight to the printer you assigned to its paper size, with no print dialog, from the desktop app or from an ordinary browser tab on a computer running the E-Khata Print Agent. One click can print a 3 inch thermal slip for the customer and an A4 copy for the file, each size with its own number of copies, and Cash Counter receipts land on the thermal printer on their own.

No print dialog, even in a browser tab
A browser tab cannot choose a printer by itself: every print opens the dialog, and the browser remembers one printer for everything. The E-Khata desktop app carries a small Print Agent that closes that gap. While it runs on the counter computer, E-Khata open in a normal browser tab finds it on its own and prints straight to the printer, the same way the desktop app does.

- If the agent is closed or not installed, printing falls back to the normal print dialog, so paper always comes out.
Each paper size to its own printer
Under Print, Printer routing lists the three sizes a document prints at: A4, A5 and 3 inch (80mm) thermal. Pick a printer for each. The choice is saved per computer, because the laser on one desk is not the laser on the next. A size you leave alone prints silently to that computer's default printer, and Ask each time brings the dialog back for one size if you want it.

- A warning when the chosen printer has been renamed or unplugged.
- The gate pass has its own paper size, so an A4 invoice can go out with an 80mm gate pass.
- After saving, E-Khata can offer to print the invoice, the gate pass, or both.
One click for the customer's slip and the office copy
Turn on One-Click Multi-Size Print in Settings and the Print menu gains a single action that prints more than one size: A4 and 3 inch, A5 and 3 inch, A4 and A5, or all three. Each size is drawn from its own template and sent to its own printer. Named copies set how many pages each size produces: Customer Copy and Office Copy on A4, and just one unlabelled slip on the thermal roll.

Counter receipts on the thermal printer
The Cash Counter prints its receipt slip as a 3 inch document every time, so it goes to whichever printer you assigned to 3 inch, without a dialog. The slip shows the invoice total, the amount received, the change and the balance. A business that prefers the full invoice at the counter can turn that on instead, or as well, and it prints with a Received, Change and Balance block at the foot.

The challan, the bilty and the balance, on the same printout
Attach a photo or PDF to an invoice, such as a signed delivery challan or a transporter's bilty, and it prints on its own pages after the document. The choice sits next to the list of attachments, so the customer's copy can go with the bilty and the file copy without it. The printed bill can also carry the time it was made and running totals that include the customer's previous balance.
- JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 2 MB each and ten per document.
- Include when printing is decided at each print, not fixed once.
- A Time field, fixed at first save, so editing the bill later never moves it.
- Previous balance, Grand total and totals with previous balance as fields you place on the layout.
Save as PDF under a name you can find again
Every PDF download opens a Save as box first, with a name already filled in: the customer's name, then the document and its number, then the copy label if there is one. Change it if you like, then save. A folder of saved bills sorts by customer, so everything for one buyer sits together, and an Urdu customer name stays in Urdu on the file.
