The Kameti Is in the Books Now

Half the businesses in Pakistan are in a committee and almost none of them show it in their accounts. E-Khata records each one as what it is: money going out every month, a receivable building up, a pot that arrives on your turn, and a close that says exactly what came back. No international accounting product has this. Yours does.

Committees in E-Khata Cloud give the kameti, the BC, the monthly rotating fund every trader knows, a proper place in the accounts. Set the committee up once with its monthly amount, how many months it runs, the period it started, and your turn if you know it. Each month, one tap records the contribution. When the pot arrives, one tap records it. At the end, close it as fully returned or write off what was not, and the ledger shows the truth of it. Every posting lands on the branch the committee belongs to, never on whichever branch happened to be open.

Set it up the way the committee actually runs

A committee has a monthly amount, a number of months, a start period and, if you know it, your turn number. The amount can be changed while the pot is still to come, and the change affects only the contributions still ahead; every contribution already posted keeps its own figure. Each committee gets a code in your own sequence, so a business in six committees can tell them apart.

  • Monthly amount, months, start period, optional turn.
  • Amount editable until the pot is received, without rewriting history.
  • Codes in sequence: CM-0001, CM-0002, and so on.

One tap a month, on the right branch

Recording the month's contribution is a single action for the period. It posts as money out and a receivable against the committee, in the branch the committee was set up in. That last point matters: a contribution that lands on whichever branch happens to be active is a defect this product has already had to hunt down twice, so the branch is stamped at setup and frozen once anything has posted.

  • Contribution per period, with the period number anchored to the start month.
  • Posts to the committee's own branch, always.
  • Undo a contribution posted in error; the ledger reverses it, nothing is erased.

The pot, and the close

When your turn comes, record the pot. It clears the receivable and puts the cash where it arrived. When the cycle ends, close the committee with a verdict: money back in full, or a write-off of whatever did not return, which posts as a loss so the books stop carrying a hope. A close can be reversed if the money turns up after all.

  • Pot received in one action, reversible.
  • Close as money back or written off.
  • Reopen a closed committee if the outcome changes.

It shows where the owner looks

Committee receivables appear on the balance sheet, contributions in the cash book, and the whole thing on the committee's own ledger, with remarks written in the language your staff use. The owner sees the total money out to committees this year without adding up a notebook.

  • Receivable on the balance sheet, cash out in the cash book.
  • A ledger per committee with remarks in Urdu or English.
  • Committees visible on the Loans & Owners screens alongside other money owed to the business.

Who it is for

Traders in several committees
Six committees, six codes, six ledgers, one monthly routine.
Shopkeepers
The kameti recorded beside the shop's money instead of in a diary.
Multi-branch businesses
Each committee on its own branch, so head office sees which branch carries which commitment.
Owners who want a true balance sheet
Money out to committees is a receivable, not a mystery gap in cash.
